Sisterhood

Our philanthropic and social endeavors help enhance Orthodox Judaism in the San
Carlos area of San Diego.  In our firs year in our new location, we built and
equipped a new kitchen enabling us to offer festive meals for special simchas,
in addition to our regular Shabbos Kiddush.  We also host an annual Tu B'Shevat
Seder and Lag B'Omer picnic.

In addition, please join us for our very successful White Elephant sale and our
Women's Conclave.
Youth Group

Young Israel of San Diego has a children's room specifically designed for
children of all ages and equipped with lots of Shabbos appropriate toys. Those
children who accompany their parents will find a whole environment made just for
them. While the older children participate in the service with their parents the
younger children have an age appropriate program of their own.

A lively discussion about the weekly Parsha follows the davening. Afterward the
children are questioned on some of the things they learned. Before going into
the sanctuary to listen to the Rabbi's drasha, the children get a little treat
to celebrate Shabbos and to reinforce the joy of learning.

The children are encouraged to come and sit with their parents during the
Rabbi's drasha, followed by a tasty Kiddush of fruit, cakes and cookies, and a
whole lot more! We will make sure your child has a rewarding and meaningful
visit with us and hope you will come back soon!
